Rick La Bar, Past-President (email)

Rick La Bar, CI, CT, NAD-IV, Candidate for Certificate: Legal Rick has been an active member of SDCRID and has served in many different capacities. From 2001 to 2005, Rick served as Co-Chair for the Professional Development Committee and additionally as Board Liaison to the PDC committee while serving as Vice President. Subsequently, Rick was appointed to the position of Vice President when the VP at that time had to step down. Then he served out the second year of Kathi Heiser’s term as President. Rick continued to serve SDCRID as President for a two year term and is now looking forward to serving as Past President of SDCRID.

Rick has been a certified interpreter since 1975. He received his interpreter training through the National Interpreter Training Consortium at CSUN. Rick is primarily a Freelance Interpreter. He has over 20 years experience as a court interpreter and has been active with the Deaf Blind community since 1988. Currently Rick is serving as Region V Representative for Deaf-Blind Member Section of RID.
