SDCRID Scholarships

Recent Accomplishments

At our 2005 RID Conference in San Antonio, TX, we offered 10, $100 scholarships to 10 members first come first serve.

Scholarships Offered

Upon approved application, SDCRID will pay for one-half (1/2) of the NIC performance test fee, at the member rate, not including the application fee, for the Certificate of Interpretation (CI), the Certificate of Transliteration (CT), the Oral Transliteration Certificate (OTC), National Interpreter Certification (NIC), Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), or any other certificate available from RID.

When fiscally possible we provide scholarships for the National RID Conferences as well as the Region V Conferences. For more information on the scholarship application process for upcoming conferences, you may contact the Scholarship Chair directly at scholarships@sdcrid.org.

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be members in good standing of SDCRID for at least 6 months.
  2. Have not previously been awarded a scholarship for this specific evaluation.*
  3. Must be a member of the National RID. Provide a copy of your membership card.
  4. Copy of Test-Date Confirmation letter from RID.
  5. Apply for the scholarship before taking the test.
  6. Applicants must submit a written request with the above documentation to:

*If you are re-taking a performance evaluation, and have not previously been awarded a scholarship for that evaluation, you are eligable to apply for a scholarship.
